Anyone with a Cal Lutheran e-mail account can access the wireless network.

Before the user has access to network resources an e-mail account and password are required for a login using a web browser.  Users are automatically redirected to the login page if they have not yet authenticated before attempting to access the wireless network.

No, the performance on a wirless network can vary due to a number of factors, such as the distance from the access point, devices such as mobile phones, tablets/iPads etc.  

There are over 300 access points on the Thousand Oaks campus, depending on what kind of activities and the amount of students are engaged in, it may lower the wireless network peformance such as video streaming or large file transfers.  

Connecting your device via a wired (Ethernet) cable is not only faster, but it is more reliable than wireless and you are not competing with other wireless devices that may be using the same access point.

Most new laptops ship with a built-in wireless network interface card (NIC).

Anyone with a ������ email account and password can use ������Wnet. To connect to ������Wnet please connect to the SSID clu and launch an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome. Try to go to a website and you will be redirected to a login page. Follow the instructions on the login page and if you have any issues please contact the ������ Help Desk at 805-493-3698.

In addition to a My������ username and password you will need a device with a 802.11 A,B,G, or N compatible wireless card.

Yes, make sure you connect to the ������ SSID and try to go to a webpage to get rerouted to the authentication page.

Any Internet resource normally available from public computer workstations.

Yes! All university residence halls and university houses have wireless coverage. If you are having any issues with the coverage in your room, please contact the ������ Helpdesk at 805-493-3698.

On your device go to the settings and make sure your WiFi is on and connected to the SSID “clu” and launch the Web browser and attempt to go to a website you would not normally go to.  You will be redirected to a log in page, Safe Connect, where you will enter your ������ username and password and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

We currently do not support guest access to family and friends of students or staff.

It is prohibited to enter your username and password to devices that you do not own and under no condition share your username and password with others as this is a violation of the computer use policy.

To accommodate ������ staff and faculty who wish to sponsor campus visitors for temporary access to the wireless network, they need to send an e-mail to helpdesk@CalLutheran.edu with the name, purpose, and duration of visit so ITS can setup a guest account for them.

Wireless routers, access points, and wireless printers are prohibited per the ������ computer use policy.  This is due to the nature of these devices interfering with ������’s Wireless Network and adversely affecting the ability for students to utilize it. If you are having issues with inadequate signal in your residence please contact the Helpdesk at 805-493-3698. We do not support wireless printers on the ������ Network. Wireless routers are strictly prohibited per the ������ computer use policy.

We do allow wired or wireless media streaming devices (Blu-Ray Players, Roku, Chromecast, etc.), or gaming consoles. All devices must  be registered at www.callutheran.edu/console before they can be used on the network
